Wednesday, July 23, 2003 - The Government of St. Lucia in collaboration
with the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD), is getting
ready to play host to a two-day Regional Strategic Planning and Network Training
Workshop.
The activity - a follow-up to a workshop on ICT applications for strategic
planning and performance management held here in November last year - will focus
on training persons as country administrators. The training will seek to ensure
that country administrators are sufficiently proficient in up-loading
information to the strategic planning network in compliance with the general
rules and procedures of the network.
Among the stated objectives will be to strengthen the capacity of national focal
points to manage information systems, to sensitize participants to the use of
information technology in the public service, and to share experiences on the
introduction of e-government in CARIFORUM member countries.
The July 30-31 training carded for the Rex St. Lucian Hotel is targeted at
senior level public officers, who have responsibility for the management of
information as it relates to strategic planning.
