Thursday, August 07, 2003 - Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony
will host a press tour of government projects in the south and on the island’s
west coast. The tour will take place on Tuesday August 19, 2003. Transportation
will be provided for accredited local media personnel to Vieux Fort, Laborie,
Choiseul and Soufriere.
Among the sites and projects to be visited are the new Vieux Fort Police
Station, the recently commissioned Vieux Fort Fisheries Complex and the new
fishing complexes in Choiseul and Soufriere.
While on tour, media representatives will also receive an update on the new
highway under construction from Vieux Fort to Soufriere.
The prime minister will be accompanied by the relevant ministers and other
government and ministry officials associated with the various projects. The
press will also be afforded opportunities to question officials involved in the
projects.
This is the first in a series of such visits to government projects around the
island, to be undertaken by the prime minister and arrangements for the tour
will be facilitated by the Department of Information Services.
