Budget Day set for April 08 |

Monday, March 31, 2003 – A date has been set for the presentation of the Budget Address. After the weekly meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday, the Office of the Prime Minister announced that Budget Day has been set for Tuesday, April 8, 2003. Prior to this date, parliament will be prorogued to facilitate preparations for the next session of the House of Assembly, during ‘which the annual Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the financial year 2003 - 2004 will be presented. The first order of business at next Tuesday’s meeting of the House of Assembly, which begins at the 9:00 am, will be the Election of a new Speaker to replace Mr. Matthew Roberts, who has resigned. The Finance Committee of the House will then meet at 9:30 am in preparation for the presentation of the Throne Speech at 11:00am by the Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy. The House will then adjourn to resume at 5:00pm for the presentation of the 2003 - 2004 Budget Address by Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, International Financial E Hon. Dr Kenny D. Anthony. |
