Tuesday, October 28, 2003 - The achievements of the James Belgrave Micro Enterprise Development Fund Inc. (BELfund), will be showcased today in the south of the island, when the organization hosts its “Second Annual Product/Service Exhibition and Open Day” at the Vieux Fort Town Hall. The event is being undertaken in collaboration with the Vieux-Fort branch of the National Skills Development Centre.

General Manager of BELfund, Marcellus Joseph says, the open day is also intended to sensitize the general public to the many services and training programmes that are available at BELfund and the NSDC. According to Joseph, the primary objective of the undertaking is to provide persons in the south of the island with the opportunity to discuss ideas and requirements with BELfund and also to decentralise the programme of the two organisations.

Joseph indicated that during the exhibition BELfund’s project development officers and a business support officer will be on hand to assist prospective clients.

“Usually we have an interview process and we will be conducting interviews on site, in an effort to tap into the market, as we are there to avoid persons travelling all the way to Castries after learning about BELfund in Vieux Fort,” Joseph said.

Among the many clients who have expressed their willingness to participate in the “Belfund Open Day-Product/Service Exhibition”, include printing services, radiator/muffler shop repairers, soya bean processors, local wines and juices manufacturers and dress making and craft producers.
