Training in Investigative Reporting and News Management |
Tuesday November 12th 2002 - Investigative Reporting and News Management will be the theme of the first of three weekend workshops for local media professionals. The workshop will be held Friday 15th and Saturday 16th November 2002, at the Bay Gardens Hotel. Course facilitator is Mr. Lennox Grant, a journalist of thirty years experience and a founding member of the Trinidad Media Workers Association. He is a graduate of the Universities of the West Indies and Carleton in Ottawa. Mr. Lennox Grant is a former tutor at the UWI Extra Mural Course in Mass Communications in Trinidad. At present he teaches a course in Fundamentals of Reporting at Cosatt College in Trinidad. Grant’s extensive professional engagement in the media includes stints as editor of the Trinidad Guardian, managing Editor of the Trinidad Express Newspapers, editor of Tapia newspaper and director of the Advocate Publishing Company in Barbados. The course is part of the programme of UNESCO which aims to provide an understanding and insight into the power of the mass media and the responsibility of media practitioners. The Department of Information Services is collaborating with UNECSO in the delivery of the programme. |
