Tickets Now Available for WI vs. NZ One Dayers |
Castries, Wednesday, May 15, 2002 – With just over three weeks to go before the new cricket stadium at Beausejour hosts its inaugural one-day internationals between the West Indies and New Zealand, preparations for the games are heating up. This week the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced that tickets for the games may now be booked by calling its toll free line 1-800-744-GAME (that’s 1-800-744-4263). Persons booking tickets will be able to pick them up as of Saturday, May 25, at the Jazz Shop at Pointe Seraphine when the actual sale of tickets will begin. Tickets for the matches range from forty EC dollars for grounds to one hundred and twenty dollars for the all-inclusive party mound (EC$40 – EC$120). Merchandise promoting the West Indies – caps, shirts, flags etc. – will also be on sale at the Jazz Shop prior to the match and at the cricket grounds on match days. The President of the St. Lucia National Cricket Association, Trevor Philip says the public can get further details on ticket prices according to the respective stands in the local newspapers this weekend. Meantime, work is continuing on putting the finishing touches on the cricket stadium, which boasts some of the most modern facilities available for cricket in the Caribbean. Officials of the Department of Youth and Sports here say the new cricket stadium will be formally opened on June 07. |
