Southern Road Development Project to Begin Shortly

Monday, July 08, 2002 – Work on Phase One and Two of the Road Development Project for the South of the island will be commissioned on Tuesday July 09, 2002. The sod turning ceremony will be held at 4:pm near the Gable Woods South Junction. Parliamentary Representative for Vieux Fort South and Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony as well as other government ministers will be on hand to witness this significant event.

Meanwhile motorists using the Vieux Fort Laborie Highway are informed that the section of road from the St. Jude’s junction to the Four Road Junction next to the Gablewoods Mall South will be closed from 1:pm to 8:pm on Tuesday July 09, 2002.

Traffic from Vieux Fort travelling towards Laborie and beyond must use the St. Jude’s highway and turn left unto the link road to the four road junction next to the Gablewoods Mall South and turn left at the Four road junction next to the Mall unto the link road and right unto the St. Jude’s Highway.
