Thursday, March 28, 2002 – Her Excellency the Governor General, Dame Pearlette Louisy, leaves the state on April 13, 2002 for the United Kingdom at the invitation of Her Majesty the Queen to attend events marking the observance of the Golden Jubilee of Her accession to the Throne.

Her Excellency will join other Governors General of Her Majesty’s Realms, from Canada, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand at events specially planned for them by Her Majesty at Windsor Castle ad Buckingham Palace.

While in the United Kingdom, Her Excellency will also attend the Memorial Service for the Late Princess Margaret scheduled for Westminster Abbey on April 19, 2002 and the Investiture Ceremony of the Order of St. John at Kensington Palace where she will be invested with the Insignia of the Award of the Dame of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of St. John of Jerusalem which she received in 2001. Her Excellency is due to return to the State on April 28, 2002.
