Presentation of Certificates

Wednesday November 27th, 2002 - Media managers and government officials will gather at the Bay Gardens Hotel on Saturday November 30th 2002, for the closing ceremony of the month-long training programme for local media practitioners. The ceremony which expected to commence at 6.00 p.m. will include address from UNECSO officials and presentation of certificates to persons who completed the various courses of training.

Three workshops for practitioners in the local print and electronic media were held here this month and covered the topics of investigative reporting and editorial management, broadcast journalism and presentation techniques for broadcasters. The facilitators included experienced journalists and broadcasters from the Caribbean region.

The training programme which was supported by a grant from UNESCO and organised by the Department of Information Services, also included two workshops on video production for leaders of community organisations in the north and south of island respectively.
