Planning and Development Minister Honourable Dr. Walter Francois says government is considering several recommendations on how to address the traffic problem along the main highway. “The consultants will meet with myself as Minister of Planning, the Minister of Communications, Works, Transport and Public Utilities Honourable Felix Finisterre and with the Prime Minister. They will remain on island for one week, holding negotiations. Also they will go on some site visits to get a first hand view of what the problem is and by the end of the week some arrangement hopefully financial, would be arrived at.” Dr. Francois says although the project is still in the initial stages government is moving speedily to address the situation, given the tremendous delays being experienced by motorists commuting from Castries to Gros Islet.
