GOSL to sign Inter-American Convention against Corruption |
Contact: Roger D. Joseph Tuesday, July 09, 2002 – The Government of Saint Lucia (GOSL) has agreed to sign the Inter-American Convention against Corruption. The Convention was adopted by member states of Organisation of American States (OAS) in Caracas, Venezuela on March 29, 1996. It identifies and describes acts of corruption and requires that parties to the convention put in place measures to establish jurisdiction over these acts. The recently enacted Integrity in Public Life Act, 2002 allows St. Lucia to give effect to the obligations under the Convention.
