Monday, July 08, 2002 – The Cabinet of Ministers, at its meeting of July 08, 2002, noted the passing of Mr. Lennard Riviere, former Attorney General of St. Lucia, and has extended its condolences to his family. In recognition of his contribution as Attorney General and as a mark of respect, the Cabinet of Ministers has directed that the appropriate ceremonial formalities be accorded for his funeral service.

In that regard the Government of Saint Lucia is in consultation with Mr. Riviere’s family to finalise the funeral arrangements and has approved the presence of police officers and the Police Band at the funeral service.

Mr. Riviere served as Attorney General from 1982 – 1987 after he was elected to Parliament as the MP for Soufriere in the general elections of 1982.
