Big Plans for Tea Time Jazz 2003 |
Monday, April 15, 2002 - Organisers of the annual Tea Time Jazz, the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) have promised that Tea Time Jazz 2003 will be held in a more spacious area and will have a capacity to accommodate many more persons. According to the Director of Sea Ports at SLASPA, Lance Arnold, this will be made possible with the completion of extension and renovation works on La Place Carenage in time for the 2003 Saint Lucia Jazz Festival. Arnold said “the growth over the last five years has even been gone above and beyond of what we anticipated. At the beginning it was just a matter of helping give some exposure to La Place Carenage itself and the shopkeepers also by getting persons into the facility. However we are slowly recognizing that we are going above and beyond that. The persons who are now coming in view it as a fixation on the jazz schedule. We have had it incorporated into the main programme of activities of the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival and also the venue size now we are even contemplating.” |
