for the Saint Lucia Fire Service as
well as securing training for officers. “And
indeed we must confess that they our men and women have done us proud.
Today we stand gratified and elated to be at this sod turning ceremony

constructed in this community and thereby on a very functional level, enhance
the physical and social landscape of Dennery South,” the minister said. The

Development Project. Chief Fire Officer, Augustine Gaspard said that the new
site is strategically placed. “I
must tell you the people of Dennery that we are not moving away from you.
We are moving in such a position that we can oversee what’s happening
in the village and at the same time see what’s happening with your neighbours
in the valley,” Augustine said. The
Chief Fire Officer assured residents of Dennery and environs that when
completed, they can expect prompt and efficient service by the fire fighters.
Mr.
Gaspard said “I promise you that on the completion of this project, with the
help of central government, I will increase the manpower and equipment at this
station thereby increasing the level of efficiency and prompt response usually
expected by the Fire Service. I
also guarantee you the residents of Dennery and its environs that you will be
proud of the high level of performance from
the fire men and women of Dennery,” The construction of the fire station in Dennery is being undertaken by the National Insurance Property Development Organisation (NIPRO).
