Work Begins on Agard Lands Roads |
Work has finally begun on road repairs at Agard Lands, which is expected to bring much anticipated relief to the thousands of residents of that community.
For several years, residents of Agard Lands have been complaining about the steadily deteriorating state of the roads, which are located in a housing development area established several years ago by the Housing and Urban development Corporation (HUDC).
The roads serve almost 300 households, but are in such a state of disrepair that the Ministry of Communications, Works, Transport and Public Utilities, in the interest of the wider community, has decided to upgrade the main through roads in the area.
A contract valued at $1.2 million has been awarded to C.O. Williams Construction Limited, through competitive tendering, for rehabilitation of the most trafficked roads within the development as well as full reconstruction of all associated drainage and masonry works.
The work on the roads is expected to be completed within 20 weeks. |
