Thursday, May 10, 2001 – Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony has signed a memorandum on economic, scientific and technical cooperation with Malaysia as he continues his visit there.  Expressing an interest in tourism and telecommunications, Dr. Anthony said St. Lucia is keen to collaborate with Malaysia.

Stressing the significance of the memorandum, the Malaysian Foreign Minister said his country was looking forward to extending whatever technical support and assistance it could to Saint Lucia. “We shall scout around for Malaysian investors interested in going to St Lucia to establish cooperation in the two fields,” said the Foreign Minister, during a briefing with reporters on the outcome of the hour-long talks between Prime Minister Anthony and Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

Dr. Anthony is currently leading a seven-member delegation on a 5-day visit to Malaysia.
