Friday, September 21, 2001 - Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony has expressed his gratitude to the public for their observance of three minutes of silence on Thursday which was requested to remember the people who died as a result of the destruction on the World Trade Centre and section of the Pentagon in the US.

All reports indicated that the activity was recognized by a large number of persons throughout the island.    Schools, business houses the Public Service and motorists interrupted their normal activities for three minutes on that day.

The Prime Minister said he was particularly pleased with the activity organized by the Vendors Association.  He commended them for acknowledging the impact of the terrorist attacks on the Saint Lucian society and the economy as well as the loss of lives.
