New Youth Representative in Senate |
Tuesday, February 06, 2001 – Perry Thomas has resigned from the Senate. In a letter to the President of the Senate, Mr. Thomas says that at the time of his appointment he had agreed that "at the appropriate time" he would resign to make way for another youth representative to "gain some experience in the Senate". In accordance with that agreement, he says, he submitted his resignation with effect from January 24, 2001. In accepting Mr. Thomas’ resignation, the President of the Senate thanked him for his service. Mr. Thomas was sworn in as a senator on August 23, 1999. Prime Minister, Honourable Dr. Kenny D.
