New CSA Executive Emphasizing Change |
Wednesday, July 25, 2001 – The new leadership of the St. Lucia Civil Service Association (CSA) is emphasizing the need for members to embrace change in response to what is taking place at the global level. Noting that the civil service is at the heart of governance of the state, newly elected CSA President, Dwight Lay, said: “We must now become the source of new ideas. Our whole traditional view of ourselves must change.” To promote the objective of change, the CSA is launching an education and awareness drive. “We must always seek to promote the voice and the interest of the worker at all times in all government policy and we think that that is very crucial to the well-being of all our members,” Lay said. “We
will also seek to foster strategic alliances with our fraternal organizations
and we will seek also to continue promoting unity among the trade union
movement,” he added. Other members of the new CSA executive are: Ms. Portia St. Catherine – 1st Vice President; 2nd Vice President – Lucius Mc Donald; 3rd Vice President – Oliver Lawrence; Secretary – Melissa David and Treasurer – Peterson Satney. The new executive was sworn in over the weekend. |
