Wednesday, May 23, 2001 – Work on the construction of the national cricket ground in Gros Islet will meet the March 2002 completion deadline.  That’s the view of Jim Ryan, Project Manager of Carillion Construction West Indies Ltd., the contractors for the project.

All utilities have been brought to the site and much of the foundation works for the pavilion have been completed.  Work on the foundation for the general spectator stands are at various stages of completion as well.

The contractors expect work on erection of the steel building frame to begin soon.

The US$10 million cricket ground will seat 15, 000 persons.
