Officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Consumer Affairs and International
Trade on Friday November 2, 2001, will join representatives from private sectors
associations and other government agencies as they seek to finalize plans for
the upcoming High Impact Growth Strategy Workshop to be held in Saint Lucia from
November 7 - 8. Immediate past president of the Saint Lucia Industrial and Small Business Association (SLISBA) Edward Harris says Saint Lucia is fortunate to be named as the headquarters for the Caribbean Business Enterprise Trust Incorporated. The Business Enterprise Trust is the parent company for two other regional organizations, aimed at assisting regional business professionals and other entrepreneurs in building venture capital while developing critical networking connections. According to Harris, “The workshop is promoting ideas that will be applied to the Hyper Growth Formula. What we are saying basically is that ideas are what create businesses and big businesses at that. Now the ideas that we are going to generate from this workshop we are going to package. We are going to produce business plans from them. Those business plans will be further marketed to reach investors on a global level.” Following
the workshop, organizers are hoping to develop a cadre of entrepreneurs and
other business professionals, who would function as a national focal point to
facilitate interaction with a Caribbean-wide hub of investors. The venue for the workshop is SLISBA’s offices at Vide Bouteille. |
