Local singing talents Sisterhood set the tone for the evening as the group sang to a rapidly filling Mindoo Philip Park. They were followed by Jamaican reggae star Barrington Levi who heated things up with old favourites like "You Living Dangerously" and "Vice Verse Love".
Jazz Festival 2001 continues throughout the week with artistes like Luther Vandross, Taj Mahal, Miriam Makeba, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Montell Jordan scheduled to perform. In all, during the period May 4 – 13, patrons can expect to take in more than 40 performances at 24 shows spread through 13 venues. |
