Thursday, August 30, 2001 – Tourism officials are excited over the news that come April 2, 2002, one of the world’s largest cruise vessels Adventure of the Seas will make its maiden voyage to St. Lucia.

 

The Eagle Class vessel accommodates close to three thousand five hundred passengers and has a crew of two thousand. The vessel will make weekly calls to Port Castries for one year and will dock at Pointe Seraphine.

 

cruise shipPort CastriesAgents for the ship, Cox and Company, together Ministry of Tourism representatives say all is in place to accommodate a vessel of that size, although some dredging work at the mouth of the harbour will have to take place.

The Engle Class vessels are extremely popular with cruise tourists around the world and features a wide variety of amenities not found on other lines like ice-skating and rock climbing.
