St. Lucia to Host Next CDB Board of Governors Meeting |
Contact: Prime Minister's Press Secretary December 5, 2000 - Prime Minister Dr. Kenny D. Anthony has announced plans for the hosting of the next Annual General Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (COB) in St Lucia. Dr. Anthony, who is the current Chairman of the CDB's Board of Governors, says St. Lucia will host the meeting in May 2001. The Prime Minister says the Bank's Governors, when they gather them next year, "will review the state of the institution's operations and chart its future in a changing Caribbean and global atmosphere." He said that prior to the Annual General Meeting9 the Governors will also have to elect a new President to replace Sir Neville Nichols9 who has resigned. In his capacity as CDB Chairman, Dr. Anthony is charged with the responsibility of charting the way for Sir Neville's succession at the helm of the region's top financial institution in the weeks ahead. The Prime Minister says he is "satisfied that arrangements am moving satisfactorily for the hosting of this important meeting of the CDB in St. Lucia. |
