Princess says Mount Coubaril Estate is Best

Wednesday March 25, 2000 - Princess Cruises has selected the Mount Coubaril Estate in Soufriere as the Best Tour for the 1999 - 2000 cruise season, while Cox and Company took the Best Tour Operator award. The awards were presented on Wednesday March 25, 2000 at a ceremony to award the best shore excursion operators in the tourism sector, on board the Dawn Princess, one of Princess Cruises ships that calls at Port Castries every week. Captain of the Dawn Princess, Mr. Bernie Warner presented the award on behalf of his company and crew, and Mrs. Eleanor Rae, Manager of the Tourism Department, received the award for the company. She said, “This is an achievement not only for the company but for the staff as well. We feel very proud whenever Princess Cruises nominates us and it puts Saint Lucia on the map as well.” The St. Lucia Tourist Board says the awards are a reflection of the efforts that have been made by the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourist Board in collaboration with the tourism partners to improve the tourism product in St. Lucia. The Dawn Princess has been visiting St. Lucia for the past three years. Since the inception of the Dawn Princess award programme last year, Cox and Company has received two awards for the Best Tour Operating Company. |
