NIS Provides Free Health Care for Its 21st Birthday |
For the public, the NIS will provide testing for glucose and hypertension. It will also provide for general consultation and for the opportunity to receive a health passport and a health action plan. Pensioners will tested for glaucoma as well. The collaborating agencies are excited about the NIS initiative. The Ministry of Health says the introduction of the Health Passport, especially, will serve to establish a database that will provide invaluable information on persons suffering with hypertension. The NIS initiative will cost approximately one hundred thousand dollars and will be carried out from March 1 to April 9 2000. |
