HUDC Takes on Land Developments at La Toc & Beausejour |
Wednesday, November 29, 2000 - The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDC) will be undertaking two simultaneous developments as part of its 2001 housing programme. On Thursday, the HUDC will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to officially begin the development of lands at La Toc and Beausejour. The groundbreaking ceremony takes place at 3:30 pm at a site located just off the Millennium Highway. Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny D. Anthony and Housing Minister Honourable Dr. Walter Francois are expected to address the gathering. General Manager of the HUDC Joseph Alexander explains what the development involves. He says, "The La Toc Development will comprise 17 lots ranging in size between 11,000 and 19,200 sq. ft. and the Beausejour development will comprise of 178 lots. The lot size will vary between 4,500 sq. ft and 12,000 sq. ft. La Toc will be a land only development whereas Beausejour will comprise of land alone and land and house packages. It is the HUDC’s intention to construct 100 houses at the Beausejour development." Joseph adds, "We have to see those developments working together in that both Low and Middle Income people are being targeted." |
