Friday, October 13,
2000
- As the Sixth Conference of Heads of State of
CARICOM ended here Thursday, preparations have begun to allow for wider public
access to upcoming conferences. That
is one of the top priorities of the new conference chairperson - St. Lucia’s
Governor General Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy. The idea has received
endorsement from other Governors General of the region and will be done via
various means. Among
them will be invitations to selected observers to the various presentations, the
publication of the presentations by means of a handbook, a video documentary on
the presentations and greater use of the Heads of State Conference website.
The
hosting of the 7th Conference will take place during the second week
of October 2001 in Grenada and will be coordinated by Governor General His
Excellency Sir Daniel Williams. |
