Education officials have wrapped up a high-powered
regional donor agency meeting here, as they sought to sell an ambitious
five-year, two hundred and thirty million dollar education plan to major funding
agencies. According
to the education official, “We have here the group of education donors
operating in the Anglophone Caribbean and they include organizations like the
World Bank, the Caribbean Development Bank, the Department for International
Development, CIDA, UNESCO, UNDP and the European Delegation and we would like
them to lend support in some way to this education plan.” Ministry personnel say positive feedback has already been received from many of the donor agencies. Already one particular component of the Education Plan is to be financed by the World Bank. |
