phone chargesWednesday, January 5, 2000 - Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Kenny Anthony says later this month, newly agreed domestic telephone rates would be announced. The Prime Minister made the disclosure earlier this week, in his New Year’s Message.

Dr. Anthony says the new rates will bring some relief to Saint Lucians, and more relief could be coming as rates for use of the Internet are being renegotiated to enable more Saint Lucians to travel in cyberspace.

It was only last year after negotiations with officials of Cable and Wireless that OECS governments were able to secure a decrease in rates on international calls making it much easier for OECS residents to communicate with relatives and friends overseas.
