March 16, 1999 - The Saint Lucia National Trust invites artists, photographers, architects and sculptors to participate in a National Architectural Heritage Exhibition. The documentation of the Architectural Heritage of Saint Lucia is part of the mandate of the Saint Lucia National Trust. In pursuit of this mandate the Trust is organising a national exhibition in May as a means to inform and sensitize Saint Lucians to the value of preserving that heritage against rapid loss.

All works must portray a building of outstanding architectural merit, which is reminiscent of the African, Military/Colonial; European, Caribbean, Modernist or Post Modernist Periods. Each artist must submit at least one exhibit of an existing building or one of a futuristic building.

Art pieces must be presented in any of the following media; Paintings, photographs, Architectural Drawings, Sculptured Models and sizes must not be less than 11" x 14".

All pieces must be accompanied by the following information typed in capitals using ‘Time Roman’ and the font size (FS) must be as follows : Name of Building (FS 14); location of Building (FS12); A short Description of no more than 100 words (FS12); Short description of medium used and support (FS 12). Name of Artist (FS12).

Participants must be citizens of Saint Lucia.

The Private Sector will be invited to buy the best pieces for inclusion in the prestigious "Project Helen" Collection which contains pieces by Saint Lucia’s best artists including Hon. Derek Walcott and Dunstan St. Omer.

Interested persons can deliver their pieces to the Saint Lucia National Trust, Vigie, Castries, Flora Villa in Canaries, Southern Area Office in Vieux Fort and Praslin.

Registration begins April 30th, 1999 and final submission date for entries is May 7, 1999.
