Contact: John Emmanuel

May 29, 1998 - The need to pay even greater attention to the island’s Watershed has again been underscored, as St. Lucia prepares to join the world in observing Environment Day 1998 on June 5.

The call was echoed by Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment the Hon. Cass Elias, in his address to mark the occasion, observed under the theme "For Life on Earth: Save Our Seas."

According to Minister Elias, beach erosion, is another troublesome area that needs to be addressed, as part of St. Lucia’s efforts in protection the environment.
