May 22, 1998 - IN KEEPING WITH THE ST. LUCIA BLIND WELFARE ASSOCIATION'S MANDATE TO ACQUIRE MATERIAL AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO SUPPORT ITS MANY SERVICES, THE 1997 VALUES FOR VISION BOOK OF COUPONS WAS LAUNCHED AS THE ASSOCIATION'S PREMIERE FUND RAISING ACTIVITY. THE WORTHY VENTURE, IS UNDERTAKEN BY THE ST. LUCIA BLIND WELFARE ASSOCIATION. THE MINISTER WAS ESPECIALLY THANKFUL, TO THE MANY PERSONS WHO WORK TIRELESSLY IN THE BACKGROUND BUT ARE NEVER SEEN IN THE FOREFRONT. MINISTER FOR HUMAN SERVICES AND FAMILY AFFAIRS, HON. SARAH FLOOD AND DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, HON. MARIO MITCHELL WAS EXPRESSED THEIR FEELINGS BY THE INNOVATIVE METHOD OF FUND RAISING UNDERTAKEN BY THE BLIND WELFARE ASSOCIATION. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE BLIND WELFARE ASSOCIATION, MR. GREGORY AVRIL HAD MUCH PRAISE FOR THE VISIONARIES - A GROUP OF PAST AND PRESENT STUDENTS OF THE SIR ARTHUR LEWIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE. THE GROUP IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE PROJECT. |
