Taxi-Drivers Workshop |
Contact: Julita Peter June 25, 1998 - As part of its efforts in providing quality tourism service, the Ministry of Tourism is conducting a four-day taxi drivers workshop at the Bay Gardens Hotel. The workshop which commenced on June 22 moves into day two today and will continue on June 29 and 30, with 20 taxi drivers from the reliable taxi association. Jackie Alexander is the tourism officer attached to the ministry of tourism Topics covered range from safety and comfort standards, to courtesy, deportment and attitude, communication skills, institutional development, and product knowledge - history and the culture of St. Lucia. The workshop facilitators are drawn from the Ministry as well as various other government, non-government and business agencies. It is hoped that these training sessions would have assisted the participants at improving their service delivery and equip them to meet the needs of the tourism industry. Participants will be receiving certificates at a closing ceremony on Tuesday June 30. |
