Contact: Lucius Doxerie May 26, 1998 - Sports tourism is certainly going places. And this is in keeping with the thrust of the Ministry of Tourism all in the spirit of diversifying the tourism product. To this end the St. Lucia Racquet Club has taken a leap forward by engaging in a twinning project with world renowned tennis player Roscoe Tanner. At a low keyed ceremony to highlight the high level agreement, majority shareholder of Clubs International Bill Stewart, said that as time goes by the hotel industry must seek innovative ways of attracting its clients. The Roscoe Tanner Tennis Village in association with the St. Lucia Racquet Club is expected to attract international media and clientele. This said President of the St. Lucia Tennis Association John Easter will augur well for the improvement of tennis in particular and sports tourism industry in general. The tennis programme, which will soon come on stream, is expected to cater both to juniors and adults. |
