June 15, 1998 - The Customs and Excise Department is seeking ways that will assist the department in fighting increasing fraudulent activities. This the department is doing through a rover training course scheduled for June 22nd to the 26th. Seventeen customs officers will be participating in the one week course geared at improving the skills of customs officers in the areas of behaviour analysis and observational techniques. It will be conducted by Prospero Ellis, an ex United States customs inspector now attached to Rover Tech International in Florida.

This is the first time Rover Tech will be conducting this exercise in St. Lucia. The course is specifically targeted at officers at all points of entry and exit for passengers and cargo on the island.
