June 5, 1998 - Government has announced plans to convert a senior Primary School in the Castries area into a Technical and Vocational School. The announcement was made by the Parliamentary Representative for Castries East Hon. Philip J. Pierre as the Rock Hall School announced plans for preparing its students for alternative forms of employment.

As part of that initiative the Rock Hall Senior Primary School has hosted a showcase of students work in the area of technical and vocational studies. The areas being highlighted included industrial arts, needle work, craft, agriculture and art.

Julian Delauney - Principal of the school says the mini exhibition is part of an overall strategy to deal with the island’s unemployment problem.

The Rock Hall Senior Primary has revealed plans to work with the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce to launch a Junior Achievement programme in the school. This initiative is expected to encourage students to development an entrepreneurial spirit.
