Programme for Training in International Civil Service |
October 13, 1998 - The St. Lucia National Commission for UNESCO announces the above-mentioned training programme for Francophonie [ACCT] member countries. It is directed at experts in various disciplines in the private and public sectors, and aims to develop a good knowledge of the way in which international organisations function and the workings of multi-lateral diplomacy. The programme is being conducted in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, the Cameroun International Relation Institute in Yaounde, the International Public Administration Institute and the United Nations Institute of Training and Research [UNITAR]. The objective of the training programme is to establish a pool of French-speaking candidates who may, one day, be considered for vacant posts in international organisations, with the aim of increasing the presence of French-speakers. The training will comprise theory and practical courses and visits to Yaounde, Paris and Geneva. It is expected that at the end of the programme, persons would have a practical knowledge of the International Civil Service and International Public Law. Interested persons must be between the ages of 25 and 35 years old, hold at least a Bachelors Degree in the field of "Actions of the International Organisation" [Law, Health, Agronomic, Education], three [3] years working experience in the public or private sector and must be computer literate. Mastery of the French language is an essential condition for participation. ACCT will finance the travel, tuition, accommodation, insurance and medical fees, as well as daily allowance to cover small expenses. Deadline date for receipt of nominations at the UNESCO Office is Wednesday, 30th October 1998. |
