Performance Appraisal Workshop

June 19, 1998 - A two day workshop designed to assist supervisors of the various government ministries in dealing with performance appraisal forms, moves into its final day today.

The workshop which is organized by the Training Division of the Ministry of the Public Service, was designed firstly to necessitate an explanation of the guidelines for the completion of a new performance appraisal form which was introduced in 1993 for managers in the public service, and secondly to encourage a positive approach to the appraisal process and to improve and develop proper communication skills when conducting such appraisals.

The facilitators for the workshop are Felix St. Hill from the Ministry of the Public Service and Jessica Meade from the firm Investment in Training.  The workshop will cover all ministries in alphabetical order.  Presently 15 supervisors from the Ministry of Agriculture are participating, the next workshop slated for August will be targeted at the Ministry of Communications, Works, Transport and Public Utilities.
