21, 1998 - The Folk Research Centre will host an open day on Friday may 22
in the town of Vieux Fort, so that residents of southern communities can get an
opportunity to learn more about the cultural heritage of St. Lucia. The
activity is a follow up to the recent open week that is held every year to
inform the public on the work of the Folk Research Centre and stimulate interest
and awareness of the nation’s culture. A
number of visual exhibitions and cultural education sessions have been planned
for Friday’s open day, the FRC is promising an interesting and well pack
program especially for the schools. The
FRC is already working on plans for open days in other communities around the
island and has announced that the second will take place in Soufriere next
month. Friday’s
activity will be held at the Vieux Fort library and will start at 9:00 am and
end at 6:00 pm. |
