May 21, 1998 - Residents of Gros Islet will soon be benefiting from the establishment of an electronic library at the Grow Well Centre in Gros Islet. The library, complete with books, computer equipment, audio - visual equipment and other materials will become a reality thanks to the Rotary Club of Gros Islet, the Rotary District 1190 of Lancashire, United Kingdom and Rotary International. The project evolved under a scheme referred to as a matching grant project.

The new library will be managed by the Grow Well Executive Committee and will be available for use by the residents of Gros Islet and the wider community. It will complement programs presently being undertaken by the centre and provide new capabilities for more advance programs to improve the literacy and technological skills of users of all ages.

The Grow Well Centre was founded by the Rotary Club of Gros Islet, the Roman Catholic Church and is staffed mainly by American Peace Corps. The project is yet another example of the club's ongoing commitment to service.
