November 11, 1998 - A joint UNDP-CARICOM Regional workshop on the Modernization of Information Systems within CARICOM’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs will be held in Saint Lucia on Monday November 16, 1998.

The workshop is part of a project that aims to promote greater CARICOM regional integration by increasing the level of foreign policy coordination among CARICOM Member states. It also aims to upgrade the technological and human resource capacities of the CARICOM Foreign Affairs Ministries, their respective Permanent Missions to the United Nations and the CARICOM Secretariat, thereby enabling these bodies to use an internet based network which will facilitate communication, consultation and information exchange through a process of sustainable institution building.

Participants at Monday’s workshop are expected to come from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis with guest speakers coming from Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago and the UNDP.
