A PROUD NATION

Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Kenny D. Anthony says he is very pleased with the expression of nationalism and pride demonstrated by Saint Lucians at home and abroad, in commemoration of Saint Lucia’s 33rd Independence. Dr. Anthony sounded a high note of praise as he took time out to thank all who participated in activities or in their own way celebrated our nation.  “I want to take the opportunity to thank Saint Lucians for the outpouring of patriotism that I witnessed during the Independence celebrations. It was a pleasure to see the number of flags flying on vehicles and the turn out to the Independence events. Our country holds a very special place in the hearts of all of us and so there are times when we must devote our time to celebrate who we are, where we have come from and where we are going,” Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Anthony urged all Saint Lucians in Saint Lucia and overseas to work and continue building our beloved Saint Lucia. “Moving forward, it is important that we make peace with our past.  This applies not only to the citizens but also to the government and indeed the various political parties. The celebration demonstrated that we are all committed to protecting our beloved country.”

Activities to mark Saint Lucia’s 33rd Independence Anniversary continue until the first week in March.
