OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDY ABROAD
Saint Lucians are encouraged to take advantage of study opportunities abroad that are currently available in Australia, New Zealand and Mexico.
Every year, a number of scholarships are made available to Saint Lucian nationals for study in a wide array of fields at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Levels.
Currently available are:
(1) Doctoral and Masters Level Scholarships in the areas of Climate Change/Natural Resource Management, Regional Integration/Economic Resilience, Education and Food Security at scholarships at the Doctoral and Masters level for the academic year commencing September 2012, from the Australian Government in collaboration with the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
(2) Doctoral and Masters Level Scholarships in the areas of Leadership and Governance, Economics, Public Sector Governance and Reform, Environmental Studies, Education, Health, Agriculture and Fisheries, Biosecurity and Food Safety, Infrastructure and Utility and Human Rights and Gender, funded by the Government of New Zealand, in collaboration with Universities New Zealand (UNZ).
(3) Postgraduate Scholarships in Agriculture and related areas in recognized Mexican academic institutions, funded by the Government of Mexico and IICA
These opportunities provide Saint Lucians with the benefit of experiencing different cultures and in some instances the dual advantage of learning a new language while qualifying themselves in their academic interest areas. More information on the requirements and deadline for applications can be found on the Government of Saint Lucia’s website, www.stlucia.gov.lc/bursaries_scholarships. |
