September 16, 1997 - The Cabinet of Saint Lucia has approved a proposal submitted by the Attorney General to create a Registry of Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property. This new office, to be housed in the old Ministry of Education building, on the corner of Micoud and Laborie Streets, will be responsible for the administration of the Companies Act and Regulations, the proposed Intellectual Property Legislation and related laws.

The Registry will be headed by a Registrar, with the necessary support staff. Refurbishment work on the new office is expected to start shortly.
