Tuesday March 06, 2012 - As part of activities to mark International Women's Day observed worldwide on Thursday March 07, 2012, the Division of Gender Relations has organized a Jump Start Mentoring Programme to be facilitated by model women around the island.

Government is indeed proud to announce that Honourable Alvina Reynolds, Minister for Health, Wellness, Human Services and Gender Relations and Honourable Emma Hippolyte Minister for Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs will be hosting a group of young women between the ages of 13-18 at their respective Ministries from 9:00a.m. These sessions will last for one or two hours, so as to facilitate the maximum number of women possible. During this time career oriented young women will get a first-hand view of the day to day operations of the Ministers and their Ministries.

It is expected that the mentoring programme, will provide a high level of personal interaction aimed at motivating and inspiring young women to work towards their chosen career path.

The Government of Saint Lucia is pleased to lead this initiative, through our two model female Ministers who are proven leaders of profound intellect and admirable character.
