Wednesday 12 January 2011  “The National Memory of the World Registry”  will be launched on Monday January 24th as part of activities marking the 18th Nobel Laureate Week.    A subsection of the registry will preserve Saint Lucia’ patrimony.

 

The initiative will feature collections from John Pilgrim, Harold Simmons, Derek Walcott, Sir Arthur Lewis , Andre Duboulay, Lafort de le Tour and John Golds.  

 

The National memory of the World Registry is the brainchild of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization- UNESCO.

 

The vision behind the programme is to facilitate preservation of the world’s documentary heritage by the most appropriate techniques.
