This latest award by the Nobel Laureate marks a continuation of his legacy as one of the greatest living English Poets in the world. The award also comes at a very timely juncture as we in Saint Lucia once again celebrate our two Nobel Laureates under the theme: “Sustaining the Legacy.”

The work of Derek Walcott whilst internationally recognized has always drawn on Saint Lucian reality and culture.
