Thursday 24 February 2011 – As the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force embarks on another week of Operation Restore  Confidence Minister for National Security and Home Affairs Honorable Guy Mayers says the Operation has the full backing of the Government of Saint Lucia.

Mayers underscored the need for the police to continue to rely on the support of the public.

“As has been reported by the commissioner, this operation is not only confined to one area but as needs be the police will be continuing their operations in the appropriate parts of the country.

“We ask that citizens give full support to the police. For us to turn the tide, there will, obviously, be some inconvenience to both citizens and businesses. I only ask that as the police conducts their operations that it be done professionally.”

According to confirmed police reports, a number of illegal items and gadgetry have been confiscated in the process and arrests have also been carried out.
