Those Taiwan Scholarship awardees will undertake 3 to 5 years study in Taiwan starting from late August 2010, which includes one year of Mandarin Chinese language training course and 2 to 4 years study programs depending on the chosen degrees from the awardees (bachelor, master or doctoral study), while ICDF Scholarship awardees will start their study programs in English without the Mandarin Chinese language course.

Both the Government of Saint Lucia and Taiwan are pleased to see that more and more talented Saint Lucians are chosen not only for further academic development in various disciplines, but also a unique cultural exchange experience. Making possible a sustainable human resource development is essential to a country’s future. Since the bilateral diplomatic tie between Saint Lucia and the Republic of China (Taiwan) was reestablished in April 2007, the Government of Taiwan has committed to promoting education and training programs in Saint Lucia by providing overseas and local scholarships, workshops, seminars and training courses. It is firmly believed  that through providing study opportunities for a wide range of disciplines at Taiwan’s top universities, the understanding and friendship between people in Saint Lucia and Taiwan will be further enhanced.
